I feel fucking crazy. I feel like most the time I am the one going "This system is more complicated than you think it is and here is why." But when it comes to solar adoption it literally isn't that. I hate landlords but like at this point let my taxes go to paying them to install solar PLEASE.

I feel like so much comes down to renting. Like, how do you ever form a local community when you have to move every year? You cant! so you have to buy everything and own everything yourself! You can't just borrow from your community! I had to buy so much shit when I moved out. Its so wasteful.

Like the energy crisis more and more is just clearly artificial. Everything does have a cost, but solar energy is just crazy easy (comparably to every other form of energy) to integrate into residential areas?
Don't even get me started on cars. I grew up in a place where 60 people shared 4 total.

Like my dad's house still runs on a solar system installed in the early 2000s with the only update being now the house is integrated into the states energy grid instead of trying to store power for later (thus wasting a lot!). His energy bill over a year almost breaks even!

I have a lot of problems with the approach where I grew up took when it came to demonstrating the way to 'fix' the way americans live for a brighter tomorrow but like. holy shit. Did it really show me that green energy isn't actually expensive or hard to implement.

This is fun.

And by 'fun' I mean 'the US is, for the forseeable future, a resource-cursed petrostate, and we should not expect to have the ability to improve our lives or our energy access, unlike the rest of the world'.
