In a moment when much of Democratic voters’ frustration is about the general spinelessness of their party leaders, it’s hard to imagine that Spotlight’s ‘expert’ advice will be of any use.

This group, intent on playing a major part in the future of Democratic politics, is practicing the tired ‘race to the center’ which has been the norm.

In the New York Times last fall, Searchlight’s founder and Sen. Fetterman alumni Adam Jentleson said he'd like Democrats to focus less on issues like climate change and LGBTQ+ rights and argued that groups like the ACLU did more damage to Democrats than “many conservative groups.”

A poll using the language ‘Abolish Ice’ was supported by 46% of respondents according to The Hill.

All this amid multiple polls which indicate that everyday Americans across the political spectrum have flipped on their support of ICE, overwhelmingly calling on the assault on people in the streets to halt.

Instead, Searchlight says,”Democrats should embrace an aggressive plan to rebuild ICE based on two concepts: Reform and Retrain.”

As the Honduran gov turned against Prospera, founders spent 500k to buy support from US elected officials, asking to sanction Honduras. Now, it appears they are banking on the election of a Trump-backed conservative candidate to ensure Prospera can continue its uninterrupted plundering of the region

Prospera relied on then-president Hernandez to create special zones and set up a loose oversight org which he loaded with his allies. Today, the liberal government is asking questions about Prospera, and have even attempted to back out of agreements with the community.

The city-state operates almost entirely independent of the country, including its own justice system (3 retired Arizona judges who rule via zoom)

Locals are forced to fight for groundwater and deal with strained infrastructure while Prospera’s residents pay nearly zero taxes for basic upkeep.
