I am not sure hftgoom has very much replay value but it would make me happy if you kept a copy of it safe on your hard drive in case it ends up being censored again.

Your copy might be the one that survives a future purge. A lot of samizdat were saved that way.

Also im sorry for going totally off topic but I just wanted to say that I like puyo puyo and cotton so it's really neat seeing someone who likes those games too.

It was really fucked up that it was done under the banner of "protection".

In other news, HFTGOOM has been re-indexed in all languages except for english.

Unfortunately the english version of HFTGOOM has steam keys tied to it at 5 usd each.

If I edit that I'll fuck up the queer games bundle.

I'm glad you like me as a person and I think you're a really good person too and you fight really hard for whats right which is rare.

Do you want to directly support a bunch of queer adult game developers by giving them money?

This bundle was made before the mass delisting and includes a ton of adult queer games.

Directly materially supporting queer artists is one of the best ways to ensure that those artists survive this.

So I guess for context yes they'll block it but eventually they plan to reopen it once they've found a way to do verification.

There is no timeline for it though.

Itch is doing the best that they can with limited staff.

Things are blocked for now because the alternative is massive fees or the law impacting them.

I had to be a cliche but there's that one quote that's like

"Hard times make hard people. Hard people make good times."

We are in the stage where we get tough and make a better future even if we have to go through a dystopia to get there.

This is going to sound weird but after releasing HFTGOOM it was like I lost my soul.

After stuff in Florida got worse I've just felt hopeless and helpless and then suddenly when this happened it was like something snapped.

I think with consent I'd totally host a ton or put together a massive torrent of queer games but the logistics right now are outside of my ability.

Now it's being ruined by bankers or whatever payment processors are.

A lot of other developers are suffering. It's been horrifying.

I've seen a a few other devs who make games about trauma have their games restricted or nuked and it's just horrifying.

Itch was a place where you could go and post anything and there was a renaissance of art games.

If you've read this far and are thinking about making a game about trauma, please don't let this stop you.

Games are still worth making, I think ultimately we are going to find a way to get games to players.

I don't know what that future looks like but it'll happen.
