Must say I’m positively surprised and hopeful to see the number of people that seem to be arriving here the last few weeks! 🤞 #MedSky #AcademicSky

Going to try to start posting more on here given the increasingly suffocating toxicity of the other place 👋

This offer roughly addresses the last few years, but at the rate since 2023 it will take several more years for resident doctors to achieve pay restoration & parity with 'all workers, all sectors' in terms of changes to real terms pay compared to 2009. ⬇️

Graph showing that resident doctors pay will still be -20.8% down on 2008/2009 even taking into account the deal from the government that the BMA are putting to members.

The pay offer for resident doctors (backdated uplift to 2023 and accepting the DDRB recommendation for 2024) is a start.

There is still a long way to go, the key will be whether future pay awards continue the trend (sadly no binding commitment to this journey this week).

A multi-panel comic. Two characters stand amidst a pile of rubble. One says, 'I think it's time to leave old social. This keeps happening. I have to start over again. I'm tired.' The two characters board a boat. Jay says, 'Don't worry! Better things are ahead at Bluesky!' They arrive to a beautiful, festive area that has buildings labeled News, Discover, Art, Science, and more.

To mark the occasion, we teamed up with @davis.social to create a comic illustrating what Bluesky is all about.

See if you can spot the easter eggs! 👀

Developmental Firsts. Sketch of a baby with the caption, “Usually sleeps through the night, aged:…………….”

The little one’s favourite word at the moment seems to be “door”, often as an instruction that he wants something behind one!

Somehow he’s now ticked off all the ‘developmental firsts’ in the ‘red book’ except this one? 📕🤣😭…
