Mostly reasonable, but with a dash of snark. Not really a squirrel.

Israel is bombarding, literally bombarding, two Middle East capitals, Beirut and Tehran, killing 100s of civilians, and yet the US and UK media continue to portray Iran as the threat to the region.

Israel has nukes, but Iran is the nuclear threat.

We live in Orwellian times.

Also important to note that the Home Office's *own figures* imply that care workers/dependents are a fiscal *benefit* in terms of the government's fiscal rules (and on every year for next 30 years).

It is Mahmood who has a fiscal "black hole" to fill.

I see Farage is off to Mar-a-Lago to talk down Britain and suck up to Trump.

There's nothing patriotic about cheering on a foreign leader whose illegal war is sending British families’ energy bills through the roof.

Somewhat lost under the hideousness of Shabana Mahmood’s plans is the fact that immigration is a bloody good thing. We need more of it, not less.

One wonders if our politicians will ever take a second to consider why they always have to make stuff up to justify being cruel to immigrants? That perhaps they could consider policies that align with the evidence?

Perhaps one for @eddavey.libdems.org.uk and the @libdems.org.uk to raise in Parliament? I can't imagine the Tories or Reform being particularly bothered by this specific potential breach of the Ministerial Code.

Right now govt is making up an obviously false β€œsaving” to justify its imm, while ignoring the obviously true cost of that policy (treasury projections assume a level of net migration Home Sec opposes and which is unlikely to happen). And these ppl wonder why trust in politics is declining.

Can't help thinking a fairer solution would be investing more in schools so that closeness to a good one doesn't drive house prices. Any other approach would seem to condemn a lot of kids to a second-class education, effectively placing barriers in front of them reaching their full potential.
