What are some of your favorite mind bending movies? I love “The Waking Life” by Richard Linklater. The film explores the nature of reality, meaning of life, and other philosophical ideas.

Drubthob Melong Dorje, a 13th century monk who is considered enlightened, wearing a melong around his neck. He sits enthroned on a white lotus/egg with green-yellow smoky motifs behind him and a green halo.

While the mirror is a key Indian religious symbol, in Tibetan Buddhism it is a symbol of the foundation of all enlightenment. Called a melong, this mirror, worn as an adornment, reflects back true reality without judgment, without scorn. #MythologyMonday
