Efforts to frame oversight as hostility or to dismiss advocacy as illegitimate only deepen division and distract from the necessary work of rebuilding trust, strengthening accountability, and

dismissive rhetoric or attacks on critics. It is earned through accountability, transparency, and a willingness to engage honestly with community concerns.

The Worcester community deserves a conversation grounded in facts, mutual respect, and shared responsibility for safety and justice.

If due process and institutional integrity are principles worth defending, they must apply equally to scrutiny of law enforcement practices and to the voices of residents and elected officials seeking transparency and reform.

Public safety depends on trust, and trust cannot be commanded through
