this is probably just me being overly defensive of my poor writing. I need to roll up my sleeves and rework this novel line by line.

got feedback from a writer's group that I need to focus on show vs tell. OK, I know readers expect flashy 'show' nowadays, and I need to improve, but I can't stand stories that overuse it. It's like listening to a song that is nothing but guitar solo. #writing

having some friends beta read my book and they've been at it for over a month with no feedback. They don't owe me anything, but I wish they'd have been honest about their availability. #writing

Yeah, I also had a lot of trouble with epub formatting when using docs' exporter. It was ignoring my pagebreaks. There's got to be better tools out there.

That sounds frustrating. What file format and software are you using?

how do you all pass the time while waiting for beta readers to read your MS? I am working on my cover art, and realizing that maybe I should hire someone, because I can't draw. #writing

At the moment, no. But maybe in a couple weeks for the next draft.

Going through Typst documentation this morning, with the hope of using it to make some great looking docs for my #TTRPG one-shot content. This is way better than LaTeX already!

Using it AT ALL means you do not respect or understand the damage that genai has done and actively does.

I made this with Inkscape, and you can tell. It's very vectory. I need to figure out how to make it less so before publishing the setting. Or maybe I should just hand-draw it from scratch.

Working on my Gunslingers one-shot this morning, running the game tomorrow night for some friends.

been busy working with a friend and music teacher the past month writing a Halloween musical.

writing can be such a lonely process, it's great when you having opportunities to collaborate with people from other walks of life.
