like, the Vorkosigan Saga universes is one that has the slave trade, quite a lot of alarming slave trades, it's one of the reasons why Jackson's Whole sucks so much

I still think the most bizarre errant 80sism in the early Vorkosigan saga is an offhand reference to "the white slave trade" - one of the VERY few times that Earthican racial distinctions are really talked about beyond "Eurasian" (and notably, that character is from Brazil)
