A general strike will be built from deep, in person, local organizing. Technology is just one tool to use.

Art can't just be a luxury for the few. That requires a city where artists can actually afford to live and create, and where musicians don't just receive recognition but fair pay.

Most of us don't have any wealth to redistribute. Just what we earn under capitalism.

I don't think you can depend on the administration imploding over Epstein. Better to build alternative systems for what has been cut and defunded, and let corporations know where else your income is going.

Think about something you don't need now, but might need very soon or in time, and what you can contribute towards that when it's your turn.

At the very least, start rethinking how public services are going to be funded in the absence of your federal tax dollars, which are now going to fund an ICE army and a variety of horrific prisons/labor camps.

There are a lot things I pay for and don't need as much as a public service for someone else. The "what about the jobs?!" question is relative. Whose jobs matter?

It's fucking absurd we have to reinvent taxation, but here we are.

I support WNYC, but I'm talking about a general pool of funding for stations across the country.

There's no way we're going to "claw back" any funding from the wealthy without the government or the guillotines. So for now, it's on us.

I imagine the Democratic party would probably shit itself if we just redirected campaign donations to services like Planned Parenthood and regional hospitals that lost funding.

We need a @generalstrikeus.bsky.social and a General Tax so we can pick up where this government has failed the general welfare of the country.

HBO Max is something you can cancel and donate your money to your local public broadcasting station. Then you can think about all the non-essential things you pay for every month and redirect it to a vital public service being defunded by Trump.

If we really think things are public utilities we can still pay for them ourselves until there is rationale, sane governance.

Think less "GoFundme" and more "GoFundUs" on a national level for entire communities. The organizations already exist and just need a little from a lot of us. No reason not to do it.
