This system is better at producing mayors with guaranteed majorities while also keeping alive inter-party competition, ie so Dems don’t always get the mayor spot where primaries are the de facto election

If you combine it with parliamentary democracy, what you basically do is make the chosen mayor have a bunch of votes in city council *even in votes of no confidence against them*

I have a blog post coming out very soon with discussion about this, my rec is basically to give the mayor a bunch of votes in city council so they usually have majority. You can combine this with presidential or parliamentary democracy

This is basically what I expected out of RFK’s vaxx council

I’m sort of tired of shouting from this from the rooftops but any coverage of immigration that shifts the conversation away from the economy and the GOP’s Medicaid cuts is bad
