Biodiversity is deeply woven into the culture and livelihoods of the Territories.
JNCC and partners are committed to collaboration to safeguard this heritage for future generations.
Insights from the workshop helped shape the new UK Overseas Territories Biodiversity Strategy, ensuring it reflects local needs while promoting collective conservation.

Great to see so many present and former (like me) @jncc.bsky.social friends and colleagues at CITES CoP20 all contributing to positive outcomes.
This is my tenth CITES CoP, covering 25 years, eight as a UK delegate, one as chair of Committee I and, now, supporting the CITES secretariat.
From the abundance of birds, bats and butterflies to air and water pollution and nature finance, the UK Biodiversity Indicators provide a wealth of data on the status and trends of nature. Overall, they paint a sobering picture, but also provide glimmers of hope. www.linkedin.com/posts/dave-s...

β€οΈβπ©Ή #AirPollution doesnβt just harm people - it changes ecosystems. Nitrogen deposition alters soil chemistry, giving fast-growing species an advantage and threatening sensitive plants π±
