Suspected Lakurawa militants this afternoon attacked Tangaza local government headquarters in Sokoto state, killing about 15 people, including 13 civilians.

Several analysts and researchers continue to link Lakurawa to the Islamic State, but Iโ€™m yet to see any evidence confirming such a link.

North-Central Nigeriaโ€™s descent into chaos amid government paralysis | Good Governance Africa

โ€œIf President Bola Tinubu's administration fails to break this cycle of violence, his legacy may be remembered not for economic reforms but for presiding over one of Nigeria's most tragic chapters of preventable violence.โ€

He mustโ€™ve thought claiming to be the governorโ€™s brother would bring some respite. Unfortunately, the gov, who can be heard being insulted in the video, is hated by bandits in Zamfara state for refusing to negotiate any peace deal with them. Hopefully, the men regain their freedom.

ISIS releases footage of ISWAPโ€™s attack last Tuesday on a Cameroonian military base in Tchokola, Far North Region, which included the looting and burning of the base. This is part of ISISโ€™ โ€œCamp infernoโ€ campaign that targets military bases in the Lake Chad Basin. The campaignโ€™s now in its 4th month

Lakurawa group in Sokoto state, northwest Nigeria, has prevented communities in Gudu local govt area from selling their cattle and other animals. This could be as a result of the groupโ€™s interest in rustling or forcibly taking animals from the people, which theyโ€™ve already started.

It is wrong to bomb hospitals. It is wrong to target civilians. I am not persuaded that the standards of just war theory and the international law of war are always morally sufficient, but I am *certain* that anything less than their standards is an abomination.

Sayed Naser served as a U.S. military interpreter in Afghanistan. Now heโ€™s being deported.

The Taliban assassinated his brother and kidnapped his father. All because he helped us.

Why are the feds trying to deport him, even though his asylum case is still pending?

Not justice, itโ€™s a betrayal.

Donald Trumpโ€™s Politics of Plunder The greed of the new Administration has galvanized Americaโ€™s aspiring oligarchsโ€”and their opponents.

Around D.C., the new going rate is well-known: $5 million for a one-on-one dinner with Trump, but gov-affairs execs have โ€œno clue where the money is eventually going,โ€ one said. Another told me itโ€™s โ€œouter-borough Mafia sh*t.โ€ My new piece is out @newyorker.com www.newyorker.com/magazine/202...
