Strongest S&P Case-Shiller home price index gains nationally since February in the month of September (after my SA - their SA is bad). National prices +1.2% annualized, had fallen slightly MoM for March-July. This can get revised down but clear improvement.

Solar becomes top source of electricity in California Over the past 12 months, solar power has become California’s largest source of electricity, a trend likely to continue.

But arguably already happened last summer (maybe just a summer peak and not valid ytd) pv-magazine-usa.com/2025/07/09/s...

Jebus, in just 2 or 3 years Pakistan has imported enough solar panels that, in some times in the coming year, panels will cover *all* the country's demand.

#climaterisk China has flat fossil fuel growth for 6quarters (Structural decline in FF demand). India had a flat quarter (mild weather). Even with hydro down YoY (EU), we are basically flat on FF electricity growth. It's happening guys.

Germany’s first grid-balancing solar project might be a β€˜paradigm shift’ for energy A modestly sized solar PV project in central Germany might have just ushered in a new era of renewables’ relationship with the grid.

'plant has bidirectional aFRR capability, can rapidly curtail its output during periods of high generation, reducing systems’ reliance on fossil fuel plants for negative control energy. It can also rapidly respond and produce power at times of low generation, even during periods of negative pricing'

Sunday Read: Middle Village Has a Love-Hate Relationship with the IBX - Streetsblog New York City The IBX light rail project is collecting out a loud group of critics β€” and a wellspring of support in central Queens.

Will the IBX "destroy" Middle Village by "BRING[ing] DRUGS" and "homeless" to the Queens enclave? Or will it be a "positive thing for [the] neighborhood" by helping residents "save a lot of time ... going to Mets games?"

It all depends on your outlook. buff.ly/lRe4zut

Clean electrification is inevitable Kingsmill Bond explains why the global march of "electrotech" has moved beyond the reach of US political interference.

Today on Volts: the subset of cleantech known as "electrotech" -- solar, batteries, heat pumps, etc. -- is marching toward inevitable victory, not because it's low-emissions (though it is), but because it's more efficient & cheaper. I discuss the good news with @kingsmillbond.bsky.social.

I’m really surprised this isn’t bigger news. Just under 10 million people live in Tehran. Where can they go? Where else in Iran will have enough water? This will undoubtedly strain the country’s and the region’s politics, finances and governance capacity.

This is for the base plotting library. I don't use ggplot2. FWIW I found plotly really good for making interactive plots and that had a lot of customization options but took a while to transition

21.11.2025 18:33 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

One solution iirc is changing the margins before plotting. You have to double check counting order (bottom axis CCW?) and that moves the entire axis text up/down...I think. It's been a while. Another is to use a custom axis with axis() and use xaxt='n' in plot()

Par(mar =c(x,y,z,d))
