-than student centric which is what it used to be. Which sounds hypocritical, but I’d rather be in a position where I can enact change because I felt so powerless as just a student. Every resource center is receiving unbelievable racial and homophobic hate crimes. Slurs spelt out upon tables-

And despite all of this, we are struggling. It seems that everyday students are coming up to me and asking me why this is happening and how bleak everything feels. I’ve known this space since 2022 and I was a regular turned into a carer of the space. It kills me to see it become so system centric-

What I’m seeing now today is dozens upon dozens of people suffering and regretting their choices to transfer or enter into a school that does not care for us. And a lack of knowledge that a resource center even exists despite our best efforts to get ourselves out there.

It does not help that they over-admitted people and most of the majors now are impacted and increased tuition and fees for both parking that most people can’t even find and introducing a construction fee for a project no one currently will even have access to once it opens.

So I work at my university’s resource center, one of the last third spaces that this school has to offer after deciding it would be best to destroy and renovate the student union as well as like all of the food places.
