Monday was a big day for Morris and Sussex County, as Delbarton and KJS United left Prudential Center with state championships. Read my recap here:

FINAL from Prudential Center: Westfield 5, Ridgewood 2.

Westfield wins its first-ever state championship.

GOAL! Brody Esler puts home the rebound of a Liam Reed shot and Westfield leads 4-1 with 13:41 to go in the third.

GOAL! Danny McDevitt's shot frm along the boards finds its way through traffic and Westfield makes it 3-1. Two goals in 50 seconds for the Blue Devils. 1:04 to go in the second.

GOAL! Aidan Wilson puts home the rebound of his own shot with 1:54 to go in the second and Westfield breaks through, it leads 2-1.

4:52 to go in the second and we're still tied up at one. A lot of the play has been in the offensive zone for Westfield, but Ridgewood's Jack Scali has been dialed in. Already with 29 saves.

GOAL! AJ LoSauro scores shorthanded after forcing a turnover at the blue line and Ridgewood ties it at 1 with 12:27 to go in the second.

End of the first: Westfield 1, Ridgewood 0. Shots 18-6 Westfield. Jack Conrod's PPG with 1:25 left in the first is the difference so far.

The Public final between Westfield and Ridgewood is underway!

The final day of the 2024-25 season is here, as the NJSIAA State Championships will be played at Prudential Center today. At the end of the day, four state champions will be crowned. Best of luck to all teams, including our Morris/Sussex County representatives, Delbarton and KJS United!

Tomorrow will be my 10th time covering the NJ state ice hockey finals. Amazing how time flies.

With the state championships slated for tomorrow, I took a look at the two games involving Morris/Sussex area teams. Here is my preview of the Non-Public and Public Co-Op finals!

KJS United's incredible run in the state tournament as the eighth-seed continued on Thursday, as it rolled past the West Milford tri-op to win the North, Co-Op sectional title behind five goals from Braydon Sisco.

Up next: Marlboro-Holmdel in the Public Co-Op final on Monday at Prudential Center.

Devastating news to share. Thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Dave Hansen, the West Morris and former long-time Madison coach, who tragically passed away on Tuesday at the age of 52.

The NJSIAA Public sectional finals are set for today. Here is the full schedule of games at both Codey and Mennen Arena.

The Morristown-Beard girls dropped a heartbreaker in the state semifinals on Wednesday, as it lost, 4-3 in overtime to Princeton Day:

Delbarton is headed to the state finals for the third time in four years, thanks to a two-goal (including the OT game-winner) performance from defenseman Sean O'Gwen, who had only four goals to his name this season coming in. Full story:

The state semifinals and sectional finals are set for the next two days, and four Morris County teams will take the ice in search of a spot in Monday's state finals at Prudential Center. Here's a preview of all 4 games involving Morris teams, including my predictions.
