Nice anecdote from the Tailwind team about using AI for a refactor:

> But even with all this effort, the results were honestly so inconsistent that I'm absolutely certain that reviewing + polishing all of the work done by the robots took more time than if we just did every single block by hand …

Fascinating response from Gemini 2.5 today:

"Your goal is to own this weight for γ‚―γƒͺγ‚Ήγƒ—(crisp) sets of 12 reps with zero swinging. Lead with the elbows"

No Japanese anywhere in the prompt. Also, this seems to be some kind of transliteration of an English word so why bother at all? So many questions!

My wife ordered a peach salad *in* peach season and it came with canned peaches. This is clearly criminal negligence, right?

Got Web Push Notifications working for a PWA on iOS, which was something I never thought I'd be able to write. However, in so doing I also learned that Apple doesn't support the `image` property, so it's text-only.

Maybe in another 5 years. So much needless pain making web stuff work on iOS.

Extract from the Australian Financial Review article:

β€œThe junior solicitor used Google Scholar to do the citations for a schedule to the firm’s application because they did not have access to physical or electronic copies of the real documents that were in the firm’s office.

The junior solicitor had used Google Scholar during their university studies but had not previously encountered this problem.
When FNLRS identified the issue, the junior solicitor attempted to replicate the result, but Google Scholar produced different results each time.

Murphy concluded β€œit seems likely that the false document citations arose through generative AI, possibly associated with Google Scholar. The capacity of generative AI to β€˜fabricate’ or β€˜hallucinate’ information is now widely appreciated.”

Murphy ordered Massar Briggs Law to personally pay the costs of the respondents, primarily the state of Victoria, on an indemnity basis but the exact amount is not specified in the ruling. Murphy did not deem the matter appropriate to refer to the Victorian Legal Services Board.

The justice found the β€œuse of AI in the preparation of two court documents has given rise to cost, inconvenience and delay to the parties and has compromised the effectiveness of the administration of justice””
