I'd like a 'standard' Shoulder Stripe in my garden 🙂

A couple of less than marvellous images of two Mompha jurassicella potted in one of the hides at #uptonwarren Flashes. Seemingly a regular late winter occurrence.

Inside hides has been the go to place for jurasicella at #uptonwarren over the last few years. A couple were found over last weekend.

5/4 this morning, three of which - Small Quaker, Hebrew Character & Early Grey - were nfy. Two CQs, predictably, were the others. It may have been more if I'd turned the light on when I put the trap out 🤦🤷 VC37 SO96 #teammoth

Red-green Carpet - Bromsgrove 22/02/26

This morning's trap produced 2 CQ & a Beautiful Plume, with another Grey Shoulder-knot on a different wall. Friday night's GSK was still in the same place, indeed both were still there when I put the trap out tonight, plus a bonus Red-green Carpet I must have overlooked this a.m. VC37 SO96 #teaamoth

Well, at least I had a moth. On the wall opposite the trap, a Grey Shoulder-knot nfy. Presumably too windy 🤔 VC37 SO96 #teammoth

By "this year" I do, of course, mean 2025 🤦

I'd had one or two suspected basaltinella in previous years, but retained a couple this year. Now on my garden list too - not sure how many records for VC37.

Definitely not on my garden list, but firmly on my Upton Warren list 😃 Trap occasionally at UW & a local sports club, so another couple of lists I keep semi-seriously.

I was lucky, a mate found it in a hide so I 'twitched' it 😃

I've managed 7 moths of four species this year so far. 4/2 in the garden & 3/2 at my local reserve. Amazingly, one new one amongst those - Early Moth at my local reserve plus 2 A.heracliana there. Probably missed a few as apathy sets in and I 'forget' to put the trap out on nights that could be OK.

Still no garden moths this year (3 blanks) but my 3rd moth of the year at #uptonwarren was nfm - an Early Moth in one of the hides #teammoth Found by Gert, it was still in the hide when I arrived 45 minutes later. Birds less inspiring, but 3 Otters were the most I'd seen at one time on the reserve.

Another damp & grey afternoon @ #uptonwarren Managed a couple of additions to my Upton year-list: Coal Tit around the Jacobs' Hide feeders and Great Crested Grebe on the Sailing Pool. Couple of Goldcrests along the west path at the Moors were the best of the rest.
