Overall the mistakes I made were my own.
A mixture of heat and a newness to playing the deck led to lots of misplays.
But I wasn't fighting for my life every game like Ancient Box, I think I need to put more time into this. I think this is my play.
Also went 2-1 at the Pre-Release at the store 😅
RD 5: LWL vs Gholdengo
Game 1: Close but a Loss
Game 2: went as well as it could 2-2-2
Game 3: Hands 2 then Miraidon takes 2, then my opponent takes a knock on Miraidon.
Only hope was ursaluna, I needed them to take 2 more, so I Rotom forgetting about Spiritomb... DPL I lose a game I had.
2-3 😭
RD 4: LWL vs Gardevoir
Played against a Mate again, assumed the match up was favourable and got too comfortable.
I lost the coin flip and bricked game three by having no way to set up a hands until turn 3.
Record 2-2 I have to play my last round to possibly be the only 3-2 to bubble in.
RD 3: WW vs Ancient Box
I didn't recognise the player but they were playing Ancient Box!
They prized Heavy Ball and Greninja game 1. It was good to see the consistency issues from an outside perspective and it made me lean more into Miraidon as my Regionals choice.
Record 2-1 (3-X-1 makes cut)
RD 2: LL vs Gouging Fire
Sada deck good deck, didn't know the list well enough to play into it.
But was against another mate who I talked to about Ancient Box with, he was still confident in the deck for Brisbane and we talked about different lines in various match ups.
Rd 1: WW vs Lugia
Plenty misplays but a favourable match up let me learn the deck.
Defiance band is a good card.
I was also playing against a friend from my regular locals which made the misplays hurt less and we helped eachother throughout allowing eachother to take stuff back.
2 weeks until Brisbane, I'm comfortable with Ancient Box and the list I have for it.
Today I wanted to give another deck a try, Miraidon.
The goal being that if I play well (go positive) despite no games it's worth trying to learn in time for regionals

Finished up as the 3rd Placing Master but 4th overall.
Not bad still need to refine the list. More gear would be ideal.

RD 3 WLW VS Dragapult
Almost a 2-0 but I was relying too much on finding certain cards. Opponent played really well.
Munki is amazing in the Matchup.🙊

RD 2 WLW VS Dragapult
2 turn donked them and they couldn't get into the game. Game 2 was closer and I misplayed meaning I couldn't get a knock when I needed. Game 3 finished pretty quickly and I played the match up better.
RD 1 LWT VS Klawf
Good opponent games were closer than I would have liked but we were just getting started.

Playing Headset Ancient Box today, the deck is more aggressive and feels ever so slightly more consistent.

3rd/10 not a bad run for a list I threw together in an afternoon, Thanks to Oscar Madsen who built a going first version of this list with Rotom V, for the inspiration.
Excited to see how the deck evolves moving forward 😊😊
R3: L vs Regidrago
Simply not a good match up for my list and I bricked both games which certainly didn't help but oh well ❤️🩹
R2: W vs Charizard
Bricked game 2 and couldn't do much but brought it back game 3 💪
R1: W vs Lugia
Opponent seemed very worried about making correct plays and was in their own head alot as they "should be able to beat Dragapult." But that's simply not the case.
Played at a locals using a very rough draft of a SquawkPult deck and did way better than expected!

Rd 4: L vs Despia
Good player, just not my day took out too many much needed cards
Rd 3: L vs Sky Striker
Lost both games, don't have alot for this match up
Rd 2: L vs Ryzeal
Yeah I was worried about that one, played terribly but still learning.
Rd 1: W vs Heroes
Donked game one, lost game 2 and then we both bricked for like 8 turns until I got enough to combo game 3 and Won.
Going to my first Yugioh event in a while, just a locals but running it up with sharks, did some test games and realised I definitely need Zeus but let's see what happens.

Overall came 5th out of 21, the deck is still early stages so I'm happy with the results but definitely have some ideas as to where to take the deck next without Thorns.

RD3: L vs Chien-Pao
How the Chien-Pao got to 2-0 idk but props to them, unfortunately for me Chien-Pao went exactly as expected. Still went to game 3 but it never felt particularly close.
RD2: W vs Klawf
Expected a tough match up and it all came down to game 3 after somehow dodging a donk on my Cleffa.
