February 23 2026. Ken’s week started with a job offer. The studio he visited a few weeks back needed a storyboard revisionist and Ken needed a start in the industry. A perfect storm. He went out and got some Aldi Wagyu meatballs to celebrate. There is a few caveats. It’s only a two month contract with and unknown future. It makes it easier to take a risk on Ken and whatever happens, he gains the experience needed for a future role. He’s also still heading to Japan right in the middle, but he’ll try and take on some hours while there. They don’t want to take his holidays away, but it’s evening there when it’s morning in Ireland so his daytime is free either way. In news related to his future commute, His car passed its NCT, but needed a little more work done to be in top shape. It’s definitely hard for him to not be excited for the next few months. Of course, these comics will continue. Usually a full time job makes Ken MORE productive.

Tasomachi: Beyond the Twilight, three stars. Short enough, super affordable during sales, collectathon that has no combat, but neat little platforming puzzles. Takes it easy on you though, so if any of the main puzzles give you trouble you can just pay to activate a portal to skip it. I do wish there was just more of those kinds of puzzles, because there's about 8 total before they just let you loose to collect things in the open areas.

Actually no, what happened was it was sold on keyshops for less than €2, until October 2022 when it suddenly shot up and has been climbing since.

Actively mad that it was delisted mere days before I tried to hunt it down on PC(like 2022? 23?) but I did get it on XBox backwards compat and it feels a game out of time. A relic of the Id era ten years late.

played Chocobo Mystery Dungeon: Every Buddy for about an hour. Topics discussed include: The history of the "Mysterious Dungeon" franchise. The pleasantries of games which contain simple integers and easy casino math. The wonderful variety of high-quality vintage Final Fantasy game music remixes. Why fathers in Costco always call their misbehaving sons "Buddy." The kind of music Ronald McDonald would listen to in the shower. There's a guy in here who looks just like Paul F. Tompkins. If birds were as big as dogs, would you ask to pet a stranger's bird? Can you hug a bird? Should you?

As for the work, ehhhh fuckin love it. Cartooning is my passion (big surprise) and storyboards are comics adjacent, so basically any drawing I've done has been a good time.

I tell you what, I am not used to the return of the week of 9-5 grind...

Okay technically I've never worked a week of 9-5s due to my previous choices in employment, but I have worked 10 hour shifts in a restaurant on 6 day weeks and drew comics after every one so I know I'm capable of getting there
