Not surprising. Plattdeutsch descends from Old Saxon, which along with Old Frisian and Old English made up a s.c. Ingveonic group.

The blame for Navajoland not being given statehood is largely placed on the states of Colorado and Utah who refused to entertain the possibility of ceding land, but I can't help but think the REAL reason would be because it would permanently create two native senators and a native representative.
14.01.2026 21:44 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0A neat part of history that they don't teach you: there was a push in the late 1970s to admit the Navajo Nation as the 51st state. The population of Navajoland would've been 150k at the time and now 174k, much smaller than Wyoming, and the capital would've been Window Rock. Interesting read.

White people should be required to learn an indigenous language to stay in the U.S., like Navajo.

Lately, a new release of CDE had occurred:

Want to try #smolBSD in no time without building, fetching, or even reading the doc?
$ curl -fsSL -o- smolbsd.org/sh|sh
No root needed, only qemu. It should work on Linux amd64, arm64, and macOS.
This will fire up a NetBSD rescue image with minimal tools!
smolBSD is a meta-operating system built on top of NetBSD. It lets you compose your own UNIX environment โ from a single-purpose microservice system to a fully-custom OS image โ in just a few minutes. smolbsd.org#about

15.11.2025 15:11 โ ๐ 6 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0An aerial drone photograph captures a massive circular gown constructed from translucent petrified wood bark, spread across ancient Navajo sandstone formations in the American Southwest. The dress features concentric rings dyed with natural pigments that mirror both the growth rings of ancient trees and the geological strata of the surrounding red rock mesas, creating a stunning mandala pattern visible from above. At the center, a model sits in meditative pose wearing turquoise and silver cast-bone jewelry, seamlessly blending into the landscape as part of a living Land Art installation. The harsh midday desert sun casts minimal shadows and saturates the natural colors, emphasizing the dress's perfect circular geometry and intricate wood grain patterns against the expansive backdrop of carved sandstone and distant mesas.
