Portrait theory studies are not usually common, and Pommier's is one of the best
2️⃣ Jean-Claude Schmitt, Les images médiévales. La figure et le corps (2023)
It is very interesting the study of the concepts of representation, imitation and figuration through Christian ontology
Five books I have enjoyed reading in 2024:
1️⃣ Jean Givens, Observation and Image-Making Art (2005)
It discusses the narrow versions of historiography regarding premodern artistic practices
15th-century portrait room at the Museo Thyssen of Madrid. The one attributed to Robert Campin is absolutely breathtaking
