Two crochet panels with various shades of pink. It looks like they came from four different skeins but alas. One skein.

Also these two are made from the same skein. The ombre dye is so long each panel looks different so I'm not sure about using it as the "solid" in between on Brooke's blanket 😭

Okay, test panels in the girl's chosen colors. I've had to think and rethink and draw out ideas because of the limited amounts of yarn I have. I think this is what I'm going with. There will be a solid color panel between each dual color panel. Black for Younger Niece, ivory for Brooke. Maybe. 😅

Mabel and Dipper, two white cats from the same litter. Dipper is on top of his sister with his beefy arm around her neck. He's grooming her chest for her. Mabel is on her side with her head upside down, eyes narrowed in displeasure.

Mabel now has her paw up, ready to bop her twin in the face. Her mouth is open in a screech. Dipper is crouching, ears laid back, one paw on Mabel's chest and the other raised to retaliate should she follow through with her bop.

Because of her wobbly cat status, Mabel is not great at grooming. Every night, Dipper puts her in a headlock to get the bits she missed. It always ends the same way - screaming and chaos. Siblings, am I right?

Lined notebook paper covered in my chicken scratch writing. I drew squares with each color my nieces wanted in their blankets, and wrote down every color combination. Then I whittled down the list so there were five color combinations each. There's a note that says there are five variants, so I need 12 of each combination for a total of 60 color panels per blanket, plus 60 solid panels. It's bananas I'm doing this much work.

I don't super subscribe to astrology but I do exhibit many stereotypical Virgo traits. For instance overplanning, list making, and perfectionism 😅

I DID IT! Look at this decent square. Took me a week of YouTube videos and learning and practicing real crochet stitches and failure and more failure but I finally made a decent concept square to base the girl's blankets off of. 👍

Now to figure out how to disappear that string end lol
