A leadership council made up of the president, the judiciary chief and a jurist from the Guardian Council will temporarily assume the duties of Iran's supreme leader, according to official news agency IRNA.

Essentially they’re hoping the Iranian people will rise up and push what’s left of the regime out of power and that someone sympathetic to the West will take over.

Lot of hopes and dreams, not a whole lot of actual strategy to make it happen from what I’ve seen.

I don’t think the US will be attacked militarily, but I think there’s definitely an escalated risk of sleeper cells, lone wolf attacks, etc. in the coming weeks.

I was glad to see that the government issued multiple announcements on that possibility today.
