the problem is, all new tvs are smart. If i could chose, id definitely go the non smart to route. I use the Apple TV for all the streaming and don’t use free view.

Do you connect your TV to the internet? I have a Sony in my man cave which I disconnected a few years ago as it was rather irritating (cannot remember why) .
