A couple of years ago I briefly could only hear in one ear, so I engaged the “mono audio” feature of my iPhone. Then forgot about it and left it on for a year or more after I recovered. When I remembered and turned it back, I suddenly knew how the first person to ever use stereo headphones felt.

Also the *very* first thing I ever saw AI images being used for on a mass basis was right wing memes, and I have to imagine this is probably the case for millions, who will forever associate the AI look with groypers and boomer Trumpies

Completely AI-generated imagery is still really easy to spot, especially that produced by tools that are free to use, and its a "look" that basically nobody likes.

We’re at this place where you can take straight up right wing meme images of like the US flag and the constitution George Washington and stuff, and post them as a liberal, and nobody thinks you’re even doing anything weird. We’re taking it all back.
