I think the important part is controlling your appetite and eating satiating foods helps do that. Protein pop tarts aren't good in isolation as a food but *could* be an improvement if having that bit of extra protein prevents snacking later on. All depends on overall calorie consumption

I've never understood the people that say that it's ok to have fares for the subway/trains but buses should be free, but as Alon says, a lot of these people just want free transit in general and are using free buses as a stepping stone to that without being honest about it
