I am anti genAI not just because it scrapes record amount of data to generate slop or puts artists out of work (they are of course factors), but also because at its base level, it's function is sowing distrust and discord.

Anti intellectualism is so on a record rise! And it's not due to some distrust of authority (that's always been there), but because ppl at a base level do not have the tools or education to examine and separate truth from misinformation. AI is only going to exacerbate that.

This. Normal functions are now being termed AI powered. Like selecting a subject in photoshop is just an ML algo. Same with chroma key or bg removal. They are conflating every ML algo with gen AI.

I really think the GOP is fast-tracking their authoritarian agendas because Trump is about to kick the bucket and they have no one who can hold their MAGA base's reverence.

As an outsider looking in, my belief is that this admin wants an excuse to impose martial law to somehow cancel or postpone the midterms. I've seen this playbook in other countries (including mine).

I believe the governments of all countries must consider this, including right wing governments because this is not your "normal conservative" site. It's literally filled with despicable nazis, fascists and pedos.

I hardly post there anymore myself, limiting myself to just my interests (wrestling, gaming etc). I'm this close to deleting my account there. Honestly, I may even stop posting there altogether as it is increasingly becoming untenable to be on that site, but I see ppl still trying their best.

People should absolutely stop posting content, specially art and irl stuff on there, but I believe leaving the platform altogether just helps their agenda. Outside of the rw and bots, there are still neutral and apolitical ppl on that site. If good ppl leave, nobody will be left to counter...

Video editing software are leaning hard into AI, not functionally but simply by naming functions AI which were just normal tools before. Like what do you mean chroma key is "AI"?

AI needs to become the most unattractive thing to the investors. Only then would these companies stop.

I don't even mind them existing. Like if the devs make a game where difficulty is the point, sure. But I hate the current culture of people imposing their views of what an "intended way" of playing a game is. I like my games with just enough challenge that it doesn't ruin the fun.

One of the main reasons I have never touched a soulslike. I know I can beat it eventually if I spend enough time on them, but I don't want to spend hours rolling and dodging and learning attack patterns. It maybe fun for some, but not for me.
