I guess I've just compartmentalized my life: at work all my colleagues and customers see me as male and I just live with it. All the people I actually care about know and are ok with me being nb. At work, the only weird interactions tend to be older men who just can't deal with me having nails. :D

people I just let it slide. If I get a sense that they're at least somewhat progressive I do say that hey my pronouns are in my bio, prob just didn't see it but could you switch please? And it's so far always been ok. I do wear a non-binary patch on my hat to signal to my fellow queers. <3

I live in Finland and Finnish doesn't have gendered pronouns nor do we have a tradition of calling people with gendered things like Sir, Miss in our normal interactions. Online in English people mostly very easily use they/them because no one sees how male I look. When it happens, if it's older...

Typoilen ihan hirveesti tääl jostain syystä. Mutta en oo vielä ikinä onnistunut typoileen sanaa "klasarimusa" muotoon "kalsarimusa" mikä musta väärin koska toi olisi hupihauskaa oon 5v vanha oikeesti. Mutta nyt mä löysin oikeeta KALSARIMUSAA! Joo kilometreissä just kattelinkin et 2-3 päivää menisin menomatkaa (riippuen onko kivoja paikkoja välissä pysähdellä). Ja sit ehkä junalla takas kun ei oo niin montaa vapaapäivää töistä.

Oh hey it's Rossini's almost birthday (he was born 29th Feb on a leap year) so what are your fave Rossini clips and recordings? I'll start with Giulio Neri singing (and acting so funnily) La Calunnia. He was such a great bass. <3

Oops. I've neglected this set for many weeks. Maybe because CD18 is a fave I've heard so many times before: Mel Bonis's Flute works, including the lovely sonata Op. 64. Ancillotti plays really well but if I'm honest Juliette Hurel's recording remains my fave. All the rest of it is lovely too.

I've long wanted to do an archaeology tour of Iran because I studied Iranian philology at uni a billion years ago. I had initially asked for time off work for March 2026 but when Trump was elected I decided to postpone. I guess late 2024 pessimistic me was right. I feel so sorry for Iranians.
