More than 1,500 round-trip transport flights were carried out by No 426 Squadron during the war.

The RCAF was an important part of Canada's effort in the Korean War.

Although RCAF members were the smallest contingent of the Canadian Armed Forces in Korea, they had an outsized impact on the war. Canadian fighter pilots flew more than 2,200 combat missions, with the United States Air Force, shooting down nine enemy MiG aircraft.

#OTD in 1953, the Korean Armistice Agreement was signed. This agreement created a ceasefire on the Korean peninsula and established the border between North and South Korea.

Today we remember the members of the Canadian Armed Forces who fought in the Korean War including the members of the RCAF.
