Across each borough and on every block, we’re organizing to protect NYC and our communities—but it’s going to take all of us.

(also I can't wait to say "this is un-painless" the next time I stub my toe)

If you travel around your city using public transit, why not print out copies of Megan's "How to Report ICE" in your city and hand those out? This case is about whether someone duly elected to the House – who indisputably
meets the constitutional qualifications of the office – may be denied her rightful office simply
because the Speaker has decided to keep the House out of “regular session.”
2. If the Speaker were granted that authority, he could thwart the peoples’ choice of
who should represent them in Congress by denying them representation for a significant portion
of the two-year term provided by the Constitution.

Fewer grad students means less science, but many STEM PhD programs in the US are cutting back on admissions this year due to federal funding uncertainties. Words by me for @nature.com:

Again, we come back to the problem that it's very easy to see election outcomes as products of simple trends. Just run more moderates! Stop talking about climate! This is what consultants sell donors on, easy stories. But election results, aggregated human behavior, is much more complex.
