I realized I've been yapping about the new dothack announcement without actually retweeting the announcement itself. (Too excited) 😂

CyberConnect2 revealed their 30th anniversary game project to be .hack//Z.E.R.O., a new action RPG that will reboot the series and appear for consoles:

This definitely feels like Bandai Namco wanting to test the waters of how viable the .hack franchise is with little risk. While they don't want to sink their own resources into funding the project, if CC2 can prove .hack to be popular I'd suspect BN would be open to fund and expand the IP again.

I'm going to be thinking about this for the rest of the day. But I'm trying to keep my hype levels on the down low until we get more information. Since it's self-published, I'm guessing that CC2 will have very little budget when it comes to marketing. It'll be up to word of mouth to spread news.

I'm going to explode if they show either a Haseo or Sora reboot design...... I feel so teased by seeing Skeith's wand in the trailer.

I do have some worries on the release timing. I hope CC2 didn't prematurely announce the title just for their 30th anniversary. Given that we only have a prerendered cutscene and concept art to nibble on, a release date is probably quite a bit far in the future.

But GOSH! Why did they have to call it .hack//Z.E.R.O. It's going to be confused by .hack//ZERO... 😭
I know the light novel is probably one of the most niche media for .hack, but still...

I can't even believe it even after watching the trailer. Is this real? It is real!!! I'm surprised BN is giving the entirety of planning and development to CC2 for this new .hack IP Project

Buwaghhhh I completed my spark in GBF and didn't get a single Versusia copy. Had to settle for sparking for Caeser... 😭

Perhaps it's because of Gnosia, but I've been just itching to play some more VNs as of late. If anyone has any other recommendations, please feel free to comment below. Especially if they're currently on sale. 😗

In a moment of weakness and nostalgia, I purchased the entirety of the Blazblue quadrilogy because it was on sale for cheap on Steam. 💦 When I have time, perhaps I'll play through the story mode again for old time's sakes when I'm up for another fun VN to just have in the background.

Right??? I absolutely loved the Gina POV. It really hammers home how odd Yuri can come across with their "amnesia" yet strange familiarity with the crew. I'm reallllly hoping that we get more of these alternate POVs.

I'm so hyped for the possibility of a Setsu POV episode. 👀
