We are excited to announce this year's round of fire station open houses! Edmontonians can meet their friendly neighbourhood firefighters and fire prevention officers, explore #yeg fire trucks and firefighting equipment, and pick up valuable fire safety tips. 1/2

Get Ready in the Park | City of Edmonton Get Ready in the Park is a free, informative and interactive family-friendly event hosted annually in May that highlights the work of the regional emergency response community.

After some coercing that they were the good guys (just without any treats), the dog allowed them to put on a harness and help bring it to safety and its owners!

Due to the location of the dog, the steep embankment and proximity to the water, our Technical Rescue Team — firefighters trained in high-angle, confined space and water rescue — were called in.

The dog went down the embankment and ended up in a spot that wasn’t safe for their human to get them from. The owner made the right decision and instead of trying to climb down, called for help.

It’s a good news story with a happy bark … we mean ending!

Last night, a four-legged Edmontonian was separated from their human and decided to head out on an adventure that took them a little too close to a steep edge along the river valley. 🧵
