I've discovered my superpower:
I crocheted a nearly 3000 stitch chain for a lace pattern....and counted it perfectly.

With no stitch markers.

The only thing that keeps me from ascending to godhood is the fact that I will still miscount a chain in the 30-100 stitch range Every Time.

For the remainder of the year, I will be sending 100% of received personal commission funds to PIRC (Portland Immigrant Rights Coalition). This is not a decision made lightly, as I live paycheck to paycheck from my dayjob, but a min. sacrifice on my part nonetheless.

When I was studying Russian, we actually learned different prepositions to use for Ukraine than were used for other countries. Which is ...pretty uncool, but that's how we were taught Russians referred to Ukraine (like it was a region of Russia, basically).

In the 1940’s, Norwegians made and wore red pointed hats with a tassel as a form of visual protest against Nazi occupation of their country. Within two years, the Nazis made these protest hats illegal and punishable by law to wear, make, or distribute. As purveyors of traditional craft, we felt it appropriate to revisit this design. All proceeds from the sale of this pattern go to the immigrant aid agencies who will distribute the funds to those impacted by the actions of ICE. Approximately 200 yards of RED yarn of your choice in fingering, DK, or Worsted weight. The sample shown was knit in Blue Sky Fibers Skyland for the DK version Suggested Needles Fingering weight yarn: US #4 / 3.5mm DK weight yarn: US #6 / 4mm Worsted weight yarn: US #8 / 5mm Notions Tapestry needle, scissors Errata Pattern has been updated to clarify how to do the decreases. i love minneapolis!!!!! look at us!!! they thought -10f/-30f windchill could stop us??? yeah right!!!!

I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.
