DeKalb County stepping in to help residents affected by government shutdown Among the efforts are working with DeKalb County Schools to make sure students who rely on federal assistance to receive meals are fed.

Today, DeKalb CEO Lorraine Cochran-Johnson announced the payoff of all outstanding school meal debt, districtwide. This impacts 1,818 students with negative meal balances. During her press conference, she shared other initiatives to address hunger and housing insecurity.
