God of Mercy, we confess that we have sinned against You. In our thinking, in our speaking, in our action and inaction. In Your mercy, forgive what we have been, and redirect what we shall be, so that we may live fully in Your will and walk humbly in Your ways. Amen.

Pray for the Middle East.

We pray for the church in all its forms. May we hear the lessons of vulnerability, and the call to rebirth, to be constantly renewed and be prepared to remain helpless and nourished by You. So that we can truly embody what the world needs us to be, and be a sign of Your love. Amen.

Lord God, for all the times we fail to listen to Your voice and Your call, for the faith we lack and the blessings we ignore or refuse, and for all the pain we cause to others by disowning our vulnerability, we are sorry Lord. We celebrate Your forgiveness today. Amen.

Loving God, You have always led Your people to places where they can hear Your voice, speak Lord, and help us to listen. You ask nothing of us, but faith and openness to You, help us to follow You in trust. Amen.

Loving God, may we discern what will help and what will harm, empowered to nurture and not neglect. Help us to live as Your people, choosing to turn toward love each and every day. Amen.

God, send us out into Your world to be a people who choose Your way of love. Whether we go into a garden or wilderness we go with You. Amen.

Tender God, Your love is unconditional. Wider, deeper and truer than we can ever fully know. For those of us who find it hard to accept ourselves, hear our prayer. Amen.

Almighty and everlasting God, You love all that You have made and forgive the sins of all those who look to You. Create in us a pure heart, that we may receive mercy from You, as we lament all that we have done that has diminished Your love in the world. Amen.

Lent day 3: Lord, today is there someone You want me to connect with outside the church?

Help us to come with You to a quiet place, to meet with You in new ways that help us glimpse how things really are when we truly come into Your presence, when we truly allow Your light to transform us and the whole world.

May we find a moment of meeting with You, when the daily veil that at times covers our world is removed, and we see Your glory revealed in the beauty of the universe You have created. Beauty revealed in the community we are part of, beauty revealed in Your precious word: most of all, beauty revealed in the love of Your Son, Jesus Christ.

Lord, today is there someone You want me to connect with outside the church?

Now therefore, O kings, be wise; be warned, O rulers of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear, with trembling kiss his feet, or he will be angry and you will perish in the way for his wrath is quickly kindled. Happy are all who take refuge in him. Psalm 2: 10-12

Transfiguring God, before Your Son suffered on the cross You revealed His true glory on the holy mountain. May we be strengthened to bear the cross, that we may reflect His glory to the world around.

Upon a high mountain, You revealed Jesus in the mystery of His transfiguration as Your Chosen Onen. May Christ be revealed to us in the message of the prophets and the witness of the apostles, that we may hear His voice and receive Him in faith.
