I did not expect to go to Martinsville and wait an hour and a half to get in the door for a drag event! The place was at max capacity 15 minutes after doors opened and let me tell you it was a NIGHT! Martinsville knows how to party 🎉 I can't wait to visit again for more fun 🙂

I tend to color my hair rainbow during politically hot times, not because I want to stir up trouble or create problems for myself. I want to be a beacon of light and authenticity in these times. I want to show everyone that we ARE here. They can't wish, or order us away. 🌈

Tiktok absolutely had cesspool components to it, but there was definitely an authentic community thriving there. People were trying. It will be missed, and hopefully easily replaced with better alternatives

A lot of the information I know about transition I learned direct from trans masc/femme people on Tiktok. TikTok allowed us to see first hand the horrors happening in places like Gaza, and people screamed in outrage.

I remember a queer/trans creator in the UK would post themselves doing 'normal' mundane things that are sometimes kind of scary, like going to a cafe alone to show everyone that it was okay. I really found comfort in that post 2020.

And also hot people 🫣 gay/trans people are so hot. TikTok was my first opportunity to see trans/queer people comfortable being themselves and feeling safe to share their lives.

Honestly TikTok is near and dear to me as the platform that really fueled my queer awakening and a lot of my early personal growth. I have used it since 2020 and found a lot of amazing people sharing valuable and engaging content.

I'm excited to do more community building in Roanoke, VA. I have met so many amazing people in the few short days since I joined the board for the Roanoke Diversity Center. I believe that we will do great things in community with each other! I may often use this page to promote organizations I love!
