Thanks, Linda. I don’t love the term either. But functional capacity to communicate/socialise/learn is crucial for interacting with NDIS eligibility/funding rules (s24). Whatever we call it, we need all the help with can get from aphasia experts on measuring/tracking it better.

Fair point, though challenging to do given current funding/insurance/ workforce constraints in Aus. Some clients explicitly state they want to learn to “interact appropriately” in specific places, includ when they’ve been denied service or simply want to get the right order w/o fuss or frustration.
