Firefighter/Paramedics from Tallaght were called to a fire recently.

A homeowner was alerted by a working smoke alarm to an electric scooter on fire downstairs.

It wasn't charging at the time.

The safest place to keep these is outside.

This training is invaluable to our crane operators, helping ensure they can safely and successfully resolve emergencies involving large animals in distress or in precarious positions.

The star of the three separate sessions was undoubtedly Bonmahon Beach, a 10-year-old gelding, who calmly played the role of a horse in distress.

Company Sergeant JP Rogan and Private Finn Connell guided 18 firefighters and officers through the safe handling of horses in distress, including how to approach, calm and ultimately lift a horse using a crane.

We would like to thank the Equitation School of the Defence Forces at McKee Barracks for the excellent training provided to our new Vehicle Mounted Crane Operator students.

Crews from North Strand and Kibarrack (Delta District) attended our training centre over the weekend for a training exercise with our Foam Support Unit.

Firefighters from
Finglas and Phibsborough responded to a Mobile home and car fire last night.

The fires were extinguished shortly after arrival and further spread was prevented.

This course was a follow on from the USAR 1 in Cookstown and USAR 2 in Merseyside as students continue to develop essential Urban Search and Rescue skills.

We were delighted to attend a USAR Rope Access and Confined Space course in Galway last week.

Firefighter/Paramedics and Advanced Paramedics from Bravo District, along with two of our ambulances and advanced paramedic car responded to a domestic fire with persons reported in the Walkinstown area recently.

Two people were rescued from the house by crews wearing breathing apparatus.
