I agree and yet I also do not trust the Dems to find anyone remotely better. It seemed like pulling teeth to get them to back Mamdani which is why it'd be awesome if the voters could push support behind an actually good candidate we find, and force the establishment to fall in line.

Now is the time to start pumping someone else up. Sadly, if they run independent after losing the primary, they have no shot, but that's why it's time to find that person NOW. I'm open to other interpretations, this is just my gut feeling.

This is my main gripe. I get that Newsom should have to earn your vote, and maybe "earn it (even though you know you'll have it even if you don't earn it)" isn't the best strategy...

Yes, things have always been bad; yes, the Dems are corporatists; yes, Harris's response to Gaza was awful, but good lord, can we all agree that this is worse? Worse for people with brown skin, worse for trans people, even worse for 2 dead white american citizens?

If Hasan's stance is "Newsom isn't good enough," he should be scouring the country for smaller politicians with higher aspirations to run. Otherwise, stop saying you won't vote for the blue candidate.

And if there isn't anyone else, spend your time and resources finding them. Newsom will be the nominee solely because people know his name and he has a social media presence. All the leftie influencers need to get together and MAKE. SOMEONE. ELSE. HAPPEN. You know how to go viral.

I don't watch Hasan, so maybe he already does everything I'm about to say, but it's never evident from what goes viral, and while he can't totally control that, he could probably try harder.

If you don't like Newsom (I don't), propose someone else. Not Jill Stein.

I'm probably not breaking new ground here, but my biggest issue with Hasan and big leftie influencers saying that they won't vote for Newsom is that it's not a solution and it doesn't seem to change anything for the better.
