18.10.2025 15:07 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0When did you first see yourself in a book? Feeling represented and part of a community saves lives. For everyone who comes out today, and for everyone who may not have that opportunity, we see you. We want you to see yourself in our stories.

Our video is too long to post here (because we have so many wonderful authors involved!) so please check it out on Instagram or the Facebook page. Listen to our voices, so we can continue to use them.

They are trying to silence us, but we keep writing. Our history wonβt be erased, our lives wonβt be forgotten, our love will not be stopped.

Show your support by requesting that your library purchase these books and put holds on them. Buy from indie, small and mid-size publishers. Support organizations working to support queer literature.

You can make a difference and stand up to book bans of queer literature. Read a banned book, or request it from your library. Read queer books at risk of being banned, talk about them, review them. 1/2
08.10.2025 20:01 β π 4 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0People who live, love, think and move through this world differently are a threat to those who fear anything beyond their own experience. Amplify our queer, disabled voices today and beyond.

#SapphicsWithTheBanned #BannedBooksWeek
The human, and queer, experience includes all abilities and neurotypes. The drive to silence disabled voices is intersectional with the drive to silence queer voices. 1/2

connections that make the world a more compassionate and inclusive place. Bans exist only to divide and they are remarkably effective.β - @jjarias.bsky.social
#SapphicsWithTheBanned #BannedBooksWeek 3/3
These stories allow us to find common ground, see the humanity in others & break down the barriers that divide us. This is especially important for readers who may not otherwise encounter these voices in their everyday lives. Representation in books isnβt just about visibility,itβs about creating 2/3
07.10.2025 16:57 β π 3 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0βLGBTQ+ BIPOC stories are so important because they help share real, lived experiences that build understanding and empathy. When we read about other peoples lives, their challenges, joys, and perspectives, it becomes so much harder to see them as βother.β 1/3
07.10.2025 16:57 β π 8 π 4 π¬ 1 π 0Do not let the people who hate us take these stories away from the people who need them. Fight these bans and show all trans people of any age that they belong and that their voices matter.β - @jamiegeeksout.bsky.social
#SapphicsWithTheBanned #BannedBooksWeek 2/2
For many trans people, the first positive representation of people like them they will ever encounter is in books. These stories are vital because they tell trans people, and especially trans youth, that they belong, that they are special, and that they have so much to hope for. 1/2
06.10.2025 19:56 β π 4 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0If our stories werenβt powerful, they wouldnβt be banning them. Queer books save lives. #SapphicsWithTheBanned #BannedBooksWeek
06.10.2025 12:22 β π 8 π 4 π¬ 1 π 1These books with LGBTQ+ characters have already been banned in many places. By banning the experiences of others, no one grows. Read about the experiences of others. Practice empathy. Itβs only in coming together and learning from each other that we grow.
