β€œDemocrats clearly won young men last night [and] they didn’t do it by pandering to young men. They didn’t do it by begging in broken fratboy speak. They didn’t do it by treating young men like special little boys who need their hands held. They didn’t do it by abandoning women and trans people.”

Young people experiencing hope from the democratic process is a beautiful thing to see:

I flew twice in the last two weeks and both times they were airing videos at security of Kristi Noem talking about the "Democrat shutdown." Please keep airing these videos through the midterms, they really help your cause, they are doing exactly what you hope don't let anyone tell you otherwise

ah, perhaps instead of pumping millions into endless factional infighting Dem donors could invest in making local Dem organizations genuine civic spaces that can reach people during and between elections

I feel like I say this every year but I really need people to hear it. Halloween is the best American holiday. Just kids outside welcomed into their world, marching around together, showing off their costumes to the elderly, parents meeting parents, neighbors catching up with neighbors.

I think a lot about the chance we had at the start of COVID to finally become a more compassionate, collectivist nation, and how profoundly we were failed not only by the sociopathic greed of the ruling class but by each other.

It doesn’t mean we won’t get there, but the lost opportunity haunts me.

I have met Brighton businesses who have very successfully switched to a four-day week.

Productivity, morale, staff retention are all up.

Exciting research from Sussex University has shown it to be brain-altering! Positively changing anxiety, depression, stress and sleep quality.

Marc Lobliner post on X: "Why the hell are we giving food stamps to 40 million people? Does anyone work anymore?"

SNAP isn't about "people who don't work." It's about people who don't get paid enough to live.

Of the 40 or so million people who rely on food stamps:

* Two-thirds are children, seniors, or disabled

* Most working-age adults who receive SNAP are employedβ€”but in jobs that pay poverty wages

I'm writing a novel. I was on a writing retreat this week, and I had a great time. It made me want to share the first piece of fiction I ever wrote that got accepted and published anywhere. I hope your eyeballs and brains enjoy it.

I mean, don’t get me wrong - it is absolutely not a good time for them to be making a deregulatory argument, considering, you know, everything. But if we weren’t rocketing down the Autocracy Waterslide, I think there’d be some things worth considering in there.
