I turned 30 about a month ago, organized my own solo exhibition in the middle of Pasar Besar Ipoh, and most importantly, my ultimate goal this year is to make 30 mini zines to symbolize what turning 30 feels like to me.

for me it has communication/writing clarity properties, almost like a clear quartz, but i haven't been working with stones for few years now, really excited to come back to this

I’ll always be riding the high of the Sun, thinking of the time when I am a functional member of society when I am manic. But those are when I am exploited and wanted for my productivity, not because I am loved for who I am when I am depressed.

But depressive episodes? Being an unhappy person? The Rocky Mountains have been there since the beginning. Who knew when they were born they want to be depressed?

Manic episodes are like colorful rivers and baleful rays of the sun, they are here, but it’s not a constant. They’ll come to visit and leave as they please.

Why does happiness feel so distant? How do some people have it easier in life compared to me? Sometimes with mental illness, it is more of a torture than a gift - it was never a superpower.

Perhaps we have no future. That may be true. On a long enough timeframe, we'll all be dead and the earth will be eaten by the sun - that much seems certain. Climate change may kill us off along with all the other species that are being destroyed. Yet that doesn't make it any less beautiful to take action in the present. It doesn't make anything less meaningful to. The present is real, no matter what may happen in the future. If we don't act in pursuit of the things that we consider meaningful in the present, that compounds the tragedy that is underway, it makes it a travesty. If we don't defend what we love, that suggests that we are not loosing anything anyway. If we impose that tragedy on ourselves renouncing our ability to dream, it is as if we deserve it. But, if we act in a way that shows that the world could be different, that will give the tragedy that we're experiencing weight. Then there will have been something beautiful in the world when it comes to an end, if only our desire for something else. The fact of its having been will hang, something that cannot be erased from history. Even if our dreams cannot come true, we can honor them thus.
