Builds websites, consumes far too much media (TV, films, & podcasts), has many opinions about anything & everything.

They’re going to kill the tech sector if they continue like this, as nobody will want to work here if they keep doing dumb shit like attempting to ban VPNs (a commonly used tool in most tech jobs to keep data secure)

Otherwise, it’s just bluster from the McSweeney machine
I'd be quite happy to see Starmer go, but when you have Streeting and Mahmood being presented as the most viable alternatives it doesn't exactly bode well for the future. Seems guaranteed that the attacks on marginalised communities we have seen already will be ramped up.

Someone needs to make a call to Pelosi who’ll then write a strongly worded letter to Schumer (as that’s what he understands)

11.11.2025 22:27 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0It’s disturbing and discomforting to examine but there are several anti-phone and anti-social media initiatives weaponizing murders and suicides of teens, leveraging grieving parents, and exaggerating or inventing causation to try and limit speech online and restrict tech freedoms

I had a Workers Party candidate which meant I voted Labour tactically to keep them out and they came within 700 votes - puts me in a bind for next time
Each time they imply that there are “no-go zones”, Starmer should call a press conference denouncing those major US networks
(but he won’t because he has no imagination or vision, just a procedural man who’s forgotten that he’s not a civil servant, but a politician)
I’m sure Lisa Nandy won‘t be underwhelming in this aspect of her role, as she has in the rest of her departmental brief

That prioritises the BBC as a public service broadcaster, doing things which commercial broadcasters can’t/won’t do.
It is, & it’s too moderate. For example: only 24 top Nazis were tried at Nuremberg. Everyone involved in horrendous abuses such as those reported in the thread below should be tried, down to the lowliest prison guard. The “Nuremberg defence” – “I was only obeying orders” – must be disallowed.

I hate this phrase, but you can walk and talk (you can have a relentless focus on affordability and stand up for marginalised communities)
If anything, trying to ditch one priority makes people not trust you (looking at you, Labour Govt who are trying to do a weird socially conservative pivot)
I normally scream with rage when I listen to the participants in the Focus Group podcast, but this was pretty insightful.
