For those who don't know, the past few months have been incredibly hectic for me. Back in November (moreso October), my roommate (calling them Rat) had a mental break. They proceeded to lose their job, a lot of their relationships, and attempted. They're okay now (kinda), but in all of that I dealt with a lot of the fall out. I took over most of the rent for both October and November, and lost a great opportunity to move to Austin. I was in a lot of financial strain because of it which was also affecting my own mental health since I was working overtime. When Rat had come back from the mental care facility they were at, they had brought their friend (calling her Snake) that they had met there. I was under the assumption that Snake wasn't going to be long; she was only going to stay with us for a couple of days until her family picked her up.
That day never came. Snake had been staying with us since then. Needless to say she's been detrimental to my mental health. They did not respect my privacy, used my groceries without asking, left messes everywhere, and occupied the living room to sleep, and also brought some very sketchy people over. That messed with my schedule too because that meant I couldn't cook in the kitchen that was next to the living room. Rat had never communicated to me that Snake was staying with us indefinitely, and that left a sour note in our relationship as well. And I couldn't even kick Snake out because that was the only way Rat was able to make rent!
We had a talk a couple of weeks ago where we decided that rent now needed to be split 3 ways if Snake was going to be staying here, and we all agreed to it. However, I found out TODAY that Snake's boyfriend had stolen not only Snake's money, but also Rat's things as well. I had been concerned when Rat had mentioned that something was missing, so I was smart enough to take anything of value that was mine out of the living room. However, that means that Snake cannot cover Rat's share of the rent anymore (and should be leaving by this weekend, hopefully).
![That's also means I'll be back to covering more of the rent until Rat gets a job (oh yeah they have not gotten a new job since they came back from the mental facility because of their mental state). I would move out now, but it's already late in the lease, I don't want to ruin my newer credit, and I wouldn't be able to find anyone to sublease my space in time for me to move out and save up for a safety deposit (or into just somewhere else). So that means, ONCE AGAIN I'll be working overtime, which means less time to work on art and hang out with friends. I apologize for any delays that come (more than that have already happened). I'll be communicating more thoroughly to all my current commissioners as well. I really want a break from this all but apparently karma has some choice words with me.
