I do have some sympathy for people who have been deceived for years by right wing radio & then Fox "news". The right wing created a disinformation bubble in rural, less well educated spaces. Main stream media has always been too soft in calling out the lies in an attempt to appear unbiased...

This is beyond cruel and unusual punishment.

Unfortunately I didn't have the chance to know him well enough to call him a friend. But he was a wonderful collaborator.

I should add that sympathy should be directed to Jacopo's friends and family. We were collaborators on this book, but unfortunately I didn't have the chance to know him outside of our work together 💔

In shock over this news. Generation X-23 #1 only came out a few days ago. Jacopo and I just created these new kids together.

I knew he'd been having health issues, but had no idea how serious they were. I'd hoped we would work together again when he was doing better 💔

We're now stuck at just over $13,000 — which feels very unlucky!

Interesting thread. A lot of our market-liberal assumptions (e.g. “voting with your wallet”) may be irrelevant in the billionaire era. The Washington Post doesn’t have to be a successful newspaper, CBS doesn’t have to make TV that people like, if the owners are willing to shrug and keep them going.

A senior CBS News staffer expressed sympathy for employees at CNN who are frustrated and upset over the Paramount news. "I need to keep reminding myself it can - and will - always get worse," the staffer told me, adding that CNN staffers "should" be freaking out since "it's hell over here."
