Watching Common Side Effects on HBO and the pharmaceutical ads add to the realism.

Setting aside the creepy (and not original, other companies do this) use of AI here to manufacture words from the dead, this framing also reinforces the Western belief that grief is something is to be cured, moved past, ended, with a terminal point of 'going back to how things were before.'

Wiping away tears after Michael B. Jordan’s win. So deserved. The Wire, Friday Night Lights, Fruitvale, and SINNERS. He’s one of the best actors out there. That Oscar is his. #actorawards

A map showing that most of the US West is having the warmest winter on record, while most of New England hasn’t had one this cold in over 20 years.

I just came across this map illustrating how dramatic the weather has been this year. I knew it’s been unusually cold and snowy in the Northeast this winter, but I didn’t realize it was this extreme!

I also think there is a lot of shaming of folks here when we talk about culture. You get some version of β€œmust be nice to not be consumed with the dystopia!” Lol

Like culture posts on this app simply don’t get the engagement and I think it’s because people feel it’s frivolous and actually it’s the thing we are fighting for, the freedom to make culture and cultural works

01.03.2026 02:57 β€” πŸ‘ 1392    πŸ” 191    πŸ’¬ 15    πŸ“Œ 13

I do actually think there is a serious imbalance on this app. A lot of politics and not enough culture. Some of that has to do with the fact that Black Twitter mostly went to Threads.

Attended a #SingingResistance event in Sac today. Such a beautiful feeling to sing together in protest.

I was born in an Iranian prison. My parents were held in their jails. My uncles lie in their mass graves.
Nothing you can tell me about the crimes of the Iranian regime that I haven't lived in blood and bone.
That doesn't mean I want my people bombed, maimed, killed, their homes in ruins.
If your vision of liberation comes only through the destruction of innocent lives, then it's not freedom you're after.

I am pro Iranian people. I stand with them against their own government’s repression AND against the imperial violence in the form of bombs dropped from the sky from Israel & the US who have already killed hundreds.

I support neither imperialism or dictatorship.
