I always have a window cracked in the winter, but I’ve opened my doors and windows for the day to air out the house so many times this winter.

100%.You could add the following categories and you’d still have 1 circle:
Weave in and out (usually at speed) and you catch up driving sanely
Floor it when the light changes even tho it’s a block to the next red light we know won’t change
Idling drive thru visits multiple times per week

I once interviewed an expert on oil consumption that focused on consumers. He said low gas prices are a religion for Americans and they will do absolutely nonsensical things to access them, like drive miles and miles out of their way.

If you wanna lose votes as fast as possible, raise gas prices.

I know highly sensitive people differ in what they’re sensitive to, that those sensitivities may vary depending on context and not being able to block out background noise is huge. Are there certain types of sounds that are easier for HSPs to block out? I’m HSP and nature sounds are always soothing.

I look at those and think how obscene it is that we spend so much money on campaigns and that all of these plastic signs are going to end up in the landfill.

UN Relief Chief warns of 'moment of grave peril' as humanitarian crises escalate in Middle East Remarks at the Daily Press Briefing at UN Headquarters by Tom Fletcher, United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency

Not only is it illegal, destructive, deadly & destabilizing, it is costing $1 billion per day. Imagine the peace, justice, equality & genuine security that could be forged with just one day’s worth of war.

Part of the reason "Breaking Bad" is one of the greatest TV shows of all time is that its central thesis, which feels true, is that there is a monster inside all human beings, and given the chance to come out, it will, indeed, come out.

Anyway, here's an article about a Let the Monster Out Factory.

To motor normative politicians, every little incremental change that gives space to non-drivers feels like a β€œwar on cars.” Privilege is a hell of a drug

About 1 month ago I was chatting to my 83-year old neighbor. He was talking about all sorts of BS including how expensive gas is. He and his wife drive large pickup trucks because of course they do. I told him he was complaining to the wrong person because I think gas should be $10/gallon.

there's so much bad in the world but there's also people who lift up and carry an elderly bat around every day so he can pretend he's flying again, and that's the part of the world I think is worth fighting for

"I’ve come up with a set of rules that describe our reactions to technologies:
1. Anything that is in the world when you’re born is normal and ordinary and is just a natural part of the way the world works.
2. Anything that’s invented between when you’re fifteen and thirty-five is new and exciting and revolutionary and you can probably get a career in it.
3. Anything invented after you’re thirty-five is against the natural order of things.” β€” Douglas Adams

It’s insane this is legal. People around Trump are profiting off war and death. I’m introducing legislation ASAP to ban this.

USA TODAY reports the death toll at the school at 85: β€œIranian media and officials are reporting a joint U.S.-Israeli attack on Iran struck a girls' primary school in the southern part of the country, killing 85.”

The population-reduction death drive of these people, which puts the lie to their prattle about natalism and birth rates, is truly immense.

Sam Altman & @sama
It was definitely rushed, and the optics don't look good.
We really wanted to de-escalate things, and we thought the deal on offer was good.
If we are right and this does lead to a de-escalation between the DoW and the industry, we will look like geniuses, and a company that took on a lot of pain to do things to help the industry.
If not, we will continue to be characterized as as rushed and uncareful.
I don't where it's going to land, but I have already seen promising signs.
I think a good relationship between the government and the companies developing this technology is critical over the next couple of years.

Picture of Marjane Satrapi alongside a quote from her. The quote reads:

The world is not divided into countries. The world is not divided between East and West. You are American, I am Iranian, we don't know each other, but we talk together and we understand each other perfectly. The difference between you and your government is much bigger than the difference between you and me. And the difference between me and my government is much bigger than the difference between me and you.

And our governments are very much the same...

- Marjane Satrapi, Iranian-French graphic novelist
