1) these anti-medical woo birth movements have been a primary feeder into anti-vaxx eugenic movements

2) they pre-date the age of social media

3) they exist because we have not addressed medical sexism and specifically obstetric violence

I notice she talks about Female Chauvinist Pigs! My copy of that has so many pages turned down and highlighted sections.

As opposed to just a few years earlier when talking about being a feminist was considered cringey and desperately uncool.

And what I don't think a lot of people realised was that big 00s/10s divide of how mainstream feminism was and how feminists were perceived.

Yep 💯. I was involved in a discussion about this on Substack the other week. There was a post by a slightly younger woman about 2010s feminism and how it was all girlboss social media posturing and let's just say quite a few of us were doing some educating in the comments.
