Yeah women's tour has more big events early in the year while the men's tour has them later in the year

Women's tour ends like 3 weeks before the men's too

Still 3 finals tomorrow before the focus fully turns to Indian Wells and the Sunshine Double.

Starting with Townsend/Stearns early in the day in Austin and then later we have Darderi/Hanfmann in Santiago and Frech/Bucsa in Merida.

Flavio Cobolli wins 7⁷-6⁴, 6-4 against Frances Tiafoe

Takes home a 3rd Title and it comes a few weeks after being on a 4-match losing streak, made Semis in Delray to end the losing streak and wins the title here in Acapulco to fully get his 2026 season going.

Paolini's tough start to the season continues, is now 5-5 in her first 10 matches, hit 33 unforced errors today.

Thought maybe playing Merida would play her into form and get her some matches, made the Semifinals but the level never reached what we've seen the last few years

Cristina Bucsa has won 7-5, 6-4 vs Jasmine Paolini to move into the Final in Merida

Both sets got tight after Bucsa got off to big leads but she takes both of them.

Magdalena Frech wins 6-2, 6⁶-7⁸, 6-3 vs Shuai Zhang to make the Merida Final

Seems to always play well in Mexico, overcame not taking the 4 match points in that 2nd set, good recovery there

Cutoff was 96 anyeay so her ranking wouldn't have been enough. She'll be top 100 now but was not at the time

Just saying its entirely different than a top 10 who doesn't enter who can play any event they wish

I just had a problem with it because you made it seem like I was ignoring Taylor when I was not, I try to keep attention on as many as I can but it can be tough in a week like this

No updates isn't even correct, I posted about her win over Fruhvirtova and her win today. She's only played 4 matches for goodness sake and that was half of them.

Like I said multiple times, Stearns is the home player with the focus on her this week..

Luciano Darderi gets past Sebastian Baez 6-4, 6-3 to move into the Santiago Final

Pure emotion from the Italian, who has won 5 of the 9 meetings vs Baez now and will face Hanfmann for the trophy tomorrow.

Taylor Townsend jumps for joy, as she makes a WTA Tour Final for the very first time in Austin.

Wins a wild one 7⁸-6⁶, 6-3 vs Ashlyn Krueger. She was 0-4 down in the opening set and completely turned things around.

Its not an opinion though. A 250 event is never prioritized over 500 events that's not just me thats everywhere.

Yannick Hanfmann into the Final of Santiago after defeating Francisco Cerundolo 6-3, 6-4.

Pretty big upset.

Not as big of a deal as some others in the grand scheme but also I wasn't even watching that match. Had she played a night match I probably would've posted about it, its that simple sometimes

Peyton Stearns into the Final of her home event in Austin.

Wins 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 vs Kimberly Birrell. Will face either Krueger or Townsend tomorrow afternoon.

They will probably have to drive out to somewhere that air travel is not restricted.

Trying to make a big deal out of who I post about by definition is trying to make something out of it.

And as always it doesn't matter anymore this late in the tournaments as I'm covering all 7 matches today.

I really wouldn't be for it regardless. One of them lost in the main draw, that's a whole lot different than losing in qualifying

And especially if you lose to an injured player do you really deserve a second shot

Still nothing curious but if you want to keep trying to make something out of nothing then sure

News: Daniil Medvedev wins the Dubai Final via walkover as Tallon Griekspoor pulls out.

Not surprising, Griekspoor was barely moving late in that match yesterday but he got across the line vs Rublev.

This is the way Medvedev has finally won the same title more than once.

And also a top 10 player. Only a WC because she didn't initially enter.

Saturday:

Final in Dubai with Medvedev/Griekspoor, hopefully Tallon can play.

Final in Acapulco with Cobolli and Tiafoe

Semifinals in Merida with Zhang/Frech and Paolini/Bucsa.

Stearns/Birrell and Townsend/Krueger in Austin SFs

Darderi/Baez and Cerundolo/Hanfmann in Santiago SFs

Frances Tiafoe wins 3-6, 7⁸-6⁶, 6-4 against Brandon Nakashima in 2 hours and 50 minutes in Acapulco

Nakashima served for this match in the 2nd set and got within 2 points of victory, but Tiafoe takes it to reach a 3rd ATP 500 Final and will go for his biggest career title tomorrow.

Jasmine Paolini wins 0-6, 6-3, 6-3 vs Katie Boulter to move into the Semifinals in Merida

Huge win for Paolini there especially after how that opening set went and ends Boulter's 7-match win streak but also considering who's in draw, Boulter may be the toughest opponent here.

Nothing curious about it.

Townsend is a WC ranked outside the top 100, you're not going to focus on her until later in the tournament especially with everything going on this week. Especially compared to Stearns, the hometown player who will get a lot of the attention this week.

Ashlyn Krueger wins 7⁷-6⁵, 6-4 vs Yue Yuan to make the Austin Semifinals.

Will face Townsend tomorrow, 3 of the 4 remaining in Austin are American with Birrell from Australia making a deep run here as well.

Flavio Cobolli wins 7⁷-6⁵, 3-6, 6-4 against Miomir Kecmanovic

Was 1-3 down in the final set before turning it around to move into the Final in Acapulco. Would debut in the Top 15 if he ends up winning tomorrow.

There's 5 tournaments this week, not everything is going to be posted, just too much tennis to post everything. Plus she's only played day matches so far.

Once you get to Saturday that changes with less matches.

Peyton Stearns wins 6-1, 5-7, 7-5 vs Oksana Selekhmetova to make the Austin Semifinals.

Up and down final set there, was 3-0 double break up in the 3rd and then lost 4 straight games before having the match point at 5-4, didn't take that but broke at 5-5 and then serves it out.
